Comments:
Hi Steve,
I have just found this site.
I first heard of you when I bought a copy of "What Was The First Rock 'n' Roll Record" and I am pleased to say that I have a copy in some format (cd or vinyl) of every track mentioned except Arkie Shribley's "Hot Rod Race".
I am a bass player/vocalist who used to play with a band called The Wild Angels. We played in the late 60s with people like Bill Haley, Duane Eddy and were the last band to back Gene Vincent in the UK.
Just to say that the book is great and I refer to it frequently. It is now a 'collectors' item, selling on web-sites for upwards of £50 ($100) a copy.
Best regards - Mitch Mitchell (no relation to Hendrix' drummer unfortunately - I could do with some of his money!)
My e-mail address is rockingmitch@googlemail.com
